Question 113. What are the sins forbidden in the third commandment?

A. The sins forbidden in the third commandment are, the not using of God's name as it is commanded; the ignorant, vain, irreverent, blasphemous, superstitious, or wicked mentioning of it; the profaning of his titles, attributes, ordinances, or works; the misusing of his name by perjury; and all sinful cursings, oaths, vows, and lots; the breaking of our oaths and vows when lawful, and the keeping of them when unlawful; the murmuring and quarrelling about his decrees and providences, and the curious prying into and misusing them; the misinterpreting, misapplying, or in any way perverting the word, or any part of it, in profane jests, curious and unprofitable questions, vain quarrellings, or the support of false doctrines. Also, abusing the name of God to any creature, or to any thing that is included under the name of God, in witchcraft, or in any sinful lust or practice; blaspheming, despising, reviling, or in any way resisting the truth, grace, and ways of God; making a profession of faith for hypocrisy and wicked purposes; and dishonoring or betraying the name of God by any unwise, unfruitful, or harmful practice.

Sin is not believing the words of Jesus Christ. This is not a word spoken to those who do not come into Jesus Christ, but to those who say they believe in Jesus but do not believe the words of Jesus.

John 16:8-11 "And when he is come, he will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they believe not in me; of righteousness, because I go to the Father, and ye see me no more; of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged."

Jesus received the authority to forgive sins and the authority to judge from the Father. Therefore, He forgives all sins to those who repent and come into Christ. Those who come into Christ died with Jesus on the cross, so the saints have already been judged by God and have received resurrection life. When the Holy Spirit comes, He will testify. This is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Not believing this is a sin. That sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.
