Question 147. What is the duty required in the Tenth Commandment?

Answer. The duty required in the Tenth Commandment is, that we should be fully content with ourselves, and be kind to our neighbors with all our hearts, so that all our inward motives and affections toward him should extend to all his possessions, and take good care of them.

Luke 10:26-27 Jesus asked, What is written in the Law? How do you read it? He answered, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.

Greed is the desire to become like God. This is the greed that the angels who sinned in the kingdom of God had, and God punished them and made them human, but now they must repent and turn back to God. Like the parable of the prodigal son, the son who left God returns to God, which is Gods love.

God's love is the dead spirit coming back to life and returning to God, and out love is making this meaning known to neighbors so that they can return to God together. It is the duty of saints to spiritually awaken neighbors in darkness and lead them to the kingdom of God.

Evangelism is the duty of the saints and the meaning of living. The purpose of the saints should not be to do well and live well in this world, but to plant the kingdom of God in this world.
