Question 185. How should we pray?

Question 185. How should we pray?

Answer. We should pray with a solemn understanding of God's majesty, with a deep sense of our own unworthiness, poverty, and sin, with repentance, with a grateful and open heart, with understanding, faith, sincerity, zeal, love, and charity, and with humble submission to His will.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:17, the Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. Just as believers eat food every day to sustain life, we must pray every day for spiritual life. You may think that prayer is about closing your eyes and praying to God, but reading the Bible, meditating, and seeking Gods will are also part of prayer.

Jeremiah 29:12-13 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart. When the memory of sin comes to mind, the saint should shout, I die every day, and be thankful and believe that he is free from sin.

Mark 11:24 "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Jesus gave his disciples the authority to forgive sins. Today, the saints also inherit the authority to forgive sins. They forgive sins without a doubt to those who repent in the name of Jesus. This becomes a prayer that believes in what has already been accomplished by doing it in the name of Jesus for those who believe that Jesus died and was resurrected.
